Help family members shop responsibly by setting allowances in Microsoft accounts. Money added to a Microsoft account can be used to buy movies, games, in-app purchases, and more. To enjoy this feature, follow the steps below.
Using a Family organizer's account, sign in at account.microsoft.com/family.
Find your family member and select either Add money or Manage spending, then Add Money.
Tip
You will see Add money if they have no funds available, or Manage spending if their account has some credit already.
Choose the amount of money you would like to add to your family member's account and select Next.
Choose how you want to pay by selecting a payment method listed under Child's payment methods on the same Spending page, then select Buy - or select How to add a card to add a new one.
How can I see how much money my child has on account?
Using a Family organizer's account, sign in at family.microsoft.com.
Find your family member and select Manage spending.
Tip
If you see Add money instead of Manage spending it means your child has no funds in their account.
Payment methods appear on this same page under Child's payment methods. You do not need to visit a separate payments page.
